Job Summary

For the Project Management Office (PMO), directly supervise personnel and activities of the Project Controls department for Scheduling. This position will oversee schedulers working on detailed and high-level schedules for electric transmission, distribution projects, including public policy, battery storage, reimbursable, 3rd party, while adhering to Projects and Construction (P&C) and PMO process and procedures. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Review schedules developed by scheduling team, to ensure accuracy based on the project phase, supporting budget authorization requests in Utility Review Board documents.            
  • Develop, coordinate and maintain status & variance reporting and executive dashboards for the financial aspects and schedules for projects, including performance indices such as CPI, SPI, and other Key Performance Indices (KPI’s).
  • Develop an effective integrated schedule development and monitoring program.
  • Review and update the P&C and PMO Scheduling procedure to verify it adheres to the current process and procedure.
  • Consult with various businesses, on scheduling and technology/IT alternatives. Research, analyze and evaluate information pertaining to technological advancements to support various LOB's.
  • Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.
  • Develop, coordinate and maintain financial, schedule, estimate, budget, resource, procurement, risk and other data within Primavera P6 and other systems / databases and query tools for individual projects and for the project portfolio.
  • Manage the collection, analysis and archive of project data.  Establish, build and implement performance metric's for cost and construction schedule checks.
  • Work with the Portfolio and Estimating Supervisors to ensure accurate schedules are entered into the P6 and align with yearly and Long Term Plan (LTP) forecasts and schedules.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Business or Construction
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Scheduling or Project Controls
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, and support multiple teams in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively collect, synthesize and interpret data to inform strategies to improve processes, develop/enhance program offerings and drive customer satisfaction
  • Must demonstrate a sense of teamwork and initiative
  • Demonstrated experience promoting team effectiveness by soliciting input from team members, communicating expectations of the team and delegating responsibilities while providing support and structure
  • Strong effective oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to train and develop others
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Scheduling Applications
  • Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required
