Job Summary

The Lead Work Coordinator will be supporting Overhead/Underground and will coordinate and manage resources to satisfy job requirements timely in order to achieve maximum efficiencies and the timely completion of work.

 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resources (internal personnel, contractors, special equipment, vehicles, tools, etc.) and satisfy job requirements (switching & clearance requests, outage coordination, mark outs, flagging, tree trim, etc.) timely in order to achieve maximum crew efficiencies & the timely completion of work.
  • Coordinate with materials management to ensure materials are available to meet schedules, assist in the management of material requirements, and report material deficiencies to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Manage backlog of work available and develop prioritized contingency work in order to capitalize on opportunities to achieve safety, efficiency, reliability, and financial goals.
  • Create and estimate work requests for emergency work as well as other types of work, as necessary, to ensure accurate accounting on work orders.
  • Prepare complete work packages with all required documents (maps, completed pre-check form, etc.) for OH/UG Lines personnel.
  • Responsible to interpret electrical drawings and electronic maps.
  • Read, interpret, and manage project and program schedule.
  • During storm restoration must be available to work off hours including nights and weekends at alternate locations.
  • Track and dispatch storm/outage jobs in the Outage management System (OMS).
  • Communicate with customers in order to coordinate appointments & planned outages, as well as resolution of inquiries and any other communications that may be necessary.
  • On a rotating basis, performs Stand-by Supervisor responsibilities in accordance with OH / UG Lines Department requirements.
  • Supervise BU employees (internal work force and external contractor crews) during storm restoration events, standby periods during assigned supervisor rotation schedule for weekend Special Schedule crews, for daily contractor complements and during periods of supervisory absence.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years equivalent work experience in a process oriented function such as, billing, accounts receivable, administrative work or construction areas of a utility.
    • In lieu of a degree, 6 years equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of OH/UG Lines construction practices, Construction Standards, work methods, labor agreements, electrical equipment, vehicles, tools, and understanding of corporate finance & budget practices is preferable.
  • Must have completed Insulate and Isolate training and competently apply the knowledge.
  • Must have completed Transmission Clearance training and competently apply the knowledge with experience in requesting, assigning and accepting clearances.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning tools (i.e.: SAP, Oracle).
  • Proficient with relevant software such as Microsoft Office products and possess the ability to quickly learn new systems and applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interface and communicate with people at all levels and across organizations.
  • Demonstrated personal accountability and excellent organizational skills to deliver performance excellence.
  • Ability to work shifts, which may include working nights and/or weekends.
  • A valid US drivers’ license with a safe driving history.
  • Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
