Job Summary
This position reports to, and will back-up the Security Command Center (SCC) Supervisor, with responsibility for day-to-day operations, procedures and processes. The primary responsibility is to enhance physical and operational security and optimize crime prevention. This Position engages and interacts with Lines of Business, to provide sensible, cost-efficient, and proactive solutions to promote a safe work environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Accountable for personnel and sub application entries including record keeping, responding to access requests via phone, monitoring check -ins, check outs and safety checks
- Notify SCC Supervisor when alarms are triggered, respond to requests from Line of Business and or Asset Protection & Investigations team for events that may impact employees and operations and report back to Security Command Center Supervisor
- Monitor and provide first response to security incidents. Escalate response as needed, including initiation of Crisis Management Plan. Coordinate activity with Critical Network Infrastructure (CNI). Ability to quickly transition from audio-visual and computer generated alarms in a virtual environment and make appropriate decision based on written procedures
- Assure Security Command Center daily activities and state of readiness including troubleshooting, reporting and providing information as needed by certifying access control and CCTV equipment is in working order, through proactive maintenance checks and, when a failure is detected, by initiating requests to support personnel for repair activity
- Assure timely execution of responsibilities related to North American Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards to ensure regulatory compliance
- Assume accountability for SCC daily operations including troubleshooting, reporting and providing information as needed
Job Specific Qualifications
- Associates Degree OR High School Diploma with 2 years Security experience or utility storm operations and response experience
- Understanding of physical security, Security Operation Centers, and Industry and Company’s policies, practices pertinent to security
- Work a rotational shift schedule including nights and weekends and as needed extended or unusual hours during adverse weather and crisis events.
- Knowledge of physical security, Security Operation Centers, and Company’s policies, practices pertinent to security
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office applications; Word and Excel
Desired
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of FERC, NERC-CIP, and other utility regulations
- Knowledge of CI/CNI regulatory requirements (critical infrastructure)
