Job Summary
This position manages the day-to-day applications coming into the PSEG LI queue through tariff based Small Generator Interconnection Procedure (SGIP) process. SGIP entails the review of approximately 6,000 residential applications plus 150 commercial applications per year from outside developers and customers who are proposing to interconnect in parallel to our distribution system. Management and oversight of the entire SGIP process is required from the time the appliction is received until the final project reconcilation is done. this position needs to ensure that all internal controls are being properly met. Position also ensures all SGIP required interconnection cycle timelines are met and all NYS tariff based changes are reviewed and implemented as needed. Position is also responsible to ensure that all reportings to multiple State agencies including DPS are done both on-time and accurately. Position is responsible to supervise 4 FTEs and Contractors.
Job Responsibilities
- Delegation of responsibilities and supervision, oversight and coaching to a staff consisting of 6 Full time employees and 2 contractors to administer the SGIP Tariff.
- Coordination of engineering review and calculation of studies to ensure each proposed project has no adverse impacts on safety, reliability and power quality. This begins with the planning and application stage and continues through the installation of equipment and then to completion with inspections, testing and commissioning while also ensuring the project final cost reconciliation process is completed in a timely manner.
- Subject matter expert on distribution interconnection and support to other groups and to outside developers and policy makers thru the NYS DPS Interconnection Technical Working group and the Long Island Interconnection Working Group.
- Responsible for meeting Internal Controls, and ensuring all reportings are done timely to internal and external entities, which includes DPS.
Job Specific Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, preference of Electrical
- A Minimum of 10 years experience in Power
