Job Summary
This role is responsible for the daily supervision and organization of assigned IBEW warehousing operations personnel to effectively and efficiently accomplish job tasks in line with departmental and company requirements. At the higher levels this role will translate functional policy by designing procedures that drive greater efficiencies and performance within their own team.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for inventory levels, inventory counting, inventory accuracy and ensuring that material is available to support Division Operations.
Maintain & evaluate ordering controls to be in line with demand & forecasting needs. - Work directly with suppliers, analysts, procurement to have larger orders blanketed over time, production slots shifted to items needed at specific times.
- Work directly with Electric OH/UG, Engineering, Project, Procurement, and other groups to improve processes.
Maintain compliance with Internal Controls and procedure requirements. - Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor performance of allocated staff including issues relating to availability, progressive discipline and standards of work to ensure that work is carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Contribute to the protection of the public and organizational personnel by ensuring all materials, standards and procedures are in line with PSEG Long Island safety policies and processes.
- Act as the first point of contact for multiple internal stakeholders to provide exemplary support and ensure service level agreements.
- Provide periodic extended service support by coordinating resources for emergency materials requests.
- Provide storm restoration support by supervising staging site and material activities throughout the island as needed.
- Monitor and assess team working practices to ensure they are compliant with regulations relating to their area.
- Produce reports and analytics related to warehouse operations and material inventory.
- Ensure inventory material is safeguarded and managed properly for its intended purpose.
- Monitor and manage inventory along with yard storage and warehouse housekeeping activities.
- Regularly attend safety council meetings.
- Perform incident analysis investigations and reports.
Job Specific Qualifications
- Bachelors in Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, or other relevant field of study and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehouse operating environment; In lieu of a degree, APICS Certification and a minimum of 7 years of experience in a warehouse operating environment or a high school diploma and 8 years of experience in a warehouse operating environment.
- Experience in Materials Management with a thorough understanding of inventory control, logistics, and materials movement.
- Experience working in an ERP system evaluating ordering controls, lead times, safety stock, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driving record.
- Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
Desired
- Experience supervising or leading a bargaining unit workforce
- DMAIC (Lean six sigma) certification
- Master's Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management or related discipline
- Experience in power utility storm restoration and emergency management
- In-depth knowledge of SAP IM and WM modules
